Porcelain sample plate designed for internal use in the factory to develop designs. The plate comes from c.1840 and as it was made not for sale, it bears no mark. According to the style and extremely high quality of the painting, it may be Sevres. In total there are 5 different designs. Each design is marked with a number on the backside of the plate. 24cm diameter. Small amount of gilding missing.
